Brian Walusimbi, the Founder and Executive Director of Bless a Child Foundation, began this journey after a life-changing visit to the Uganda Cancer Institute in 2007. While there to entertain children as a clown, he encountered young cancer patients and caregivers living in extremely difficult conditions, with many families sleeping on hospital verandas as they waited for treatment.

Deeply moved by what he saw, Brian began organizing “Smile Again Parties” to bring moments of joy to children facing cancer. But he soon realized that families needed much more than laughter, they needed safe shelter, meals, care, dignity, and hope.

That realization led to the founding of Bless a Child Foundation and the opening of its first home in Kampala in 2010. Today, the Foundation provides care and support services to thousands of children with cancer and their caregivers, at no cost, thanks to the generosity of partners and supporters who believe every child deserves a chance to heal.
