Our Care Homes

Bless a Child Foundation Care Homes provide more than shelter, they provide comfort, dignity, and hope for children with cancer and their caregivers during one of the hardest times of their lives.
Many families travel long distances from across Uganda and neighboring countries to access treatment. For them, finding a safe and affordable place to stay near the hospital can be impossible.
Our Care Homes were created to bridge that gap by offering a free, child-friendly space where families can rest, heal, and remain close to care.

Each home offers a safe, clean, and nurturing environment where children and their caregivers receive comprehensive support at no cost. This includes accommodation, warm beds, nutritious meals, psychosocial support, play therapy, remedial learning, and spaces where children can simply be children again.
Our homes serve as a true home away from home. By keeping families close to treatment centers, we reduce the financial strain of constant travel, ease the emotional burden on caregivers, and help children continue treatment with greater consistency and support.

Most importantly, our Care Homes help reduce treatment abandonment, one of the greatest challenges in childhood cancer care. When families have a safe place to stay, children are more likely to complete treatment and have a better chance at recovery.

From Kampala to Mbarara and beyond, each Bless a Child Foundation home exists to ensure that no child faces cancer alone, and no caregiver has to choose between treatment and survival needs. Through these homes, we are creating spaces of healing, belonging, and hope for families who need it most.
